About Us

We are David and Yvonne D’Arcy - Williams and we were first introduced to this beautiful and secret part of the Southern Lakes in 1999.  By 2000 we had bought a cottage in Milnthorpe with the intention of spending holidays in this wonderful area.  We loved it so much that in 2003 we moved from Chester to our little cottage - and have lived here very happily since then.

Stunned by the fabulous views of the Estuary and Fells, we bought 1 Lingmell a couple of years later and set about renovating and refurbishing -  which took us almost two years - not very quick workers!  We are pleased with the results and our guests certainly love it - so much so that many return time and time again.  We always look forward to the (now rare!) times that we spend at 1 Lingmell.

Arnside is such a lovely village - it has everything to offer, and the community is so warm, friendly and caring.  We spend hours and hours gazing at those beautiful, and always so different, sunsets.  The pace of life is so much more leisurely here and there is always time to “stand and stare” …..highly recommended!
